Air Conditioning Services
Central air maintained, repaired and installed for homes that cool with a separate outdoor unit and want the same careful, written-report approach.
PACKAGE UNIT MAINTENANCE
A package unit carries your home through hot summers and cold winters from one outdoor cabinet, so a careful yearly look keeps a single system ready for two seasons. Fesmire Heating & Air Conditioning provides package unit maintenance and tune-ups in Pueblo, CO. We are a second-generation, family-owned and operated company with 25+ years of service, and as an Armstrong Air ProTeam contractor we maintain any brand of package system. Our technicians clean, test and inspect the cabinet, coil, blower and heating section, then give you a written report. Call during business hours, and we will get you scheduled.

WHY MAINTAIN
Because a package unit holds its cooling coil, blower and heating section in one cabinet, a single tune-up can cover the whole system. We clean and test the parts that serve summer, the parts that serve winter and the shared components in between, so you are not scheduling two separate service calls for two separate pieces of equipment. That also means a worn part on one side gets noticed before it becomes a problem on the other.
Fesmire began as a father's company and is now run by his son, so the technician maintaining your unit answers to a Pueblo family that expects to see you again next season. Ongoing care works best with people who remember your equipment from year to year. Our company story shows where we came from.
As an Armstrong Air ProTeam contractor, we know Armstrong Air package equipment closely. Your unit does not have to carry that name, though. We maintain any brand, including units another contractor installed or that came with the house, and we plan each visit around the make and model on the data label, so the checklist follows your equipment instead of a brand name.
Each tune-up ends with a report covering what we measured, what we cleaned and what we recommend next. You see the condition of your package unit in plain language, which makes planning easier than reacting when the system quits. Keep each report and you build a history any technician can use.
We put the needs of our customers first and work with you every step of the way. If a tune-up turns up a worn part, we explain what it is, why it matters and what your options are, and nothing moves forward until you understand it and agree. There are no surprises or hidden fees along the way, only a clear explanation and a decision that stays with you. If replacing the unit ever becomes the better path, our package unit installation page explains how we plan a new system.
Fesmire has been installing and servicing heating and cooling equipment since 2000, which adds up to 25+ years of service. Veterans and seniors receive 10% off when they mention it, and our Specials & Coupons page explains how the discount works.
Our Maintenance Plans
Regular maintenance is the simplest way to protect your equipment. A system that gets checked before the season starts is far less likely to fail on the hottest or coldest day of the year in Pueblo. We offer maintenance plans for Pueblo-area homes.
Our residential maintenance covers the systems we install and service, including air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, mini-splits, and package units. Tune-ups help your equipment run efficiently, and they give us the chance to catch small problems before they become expensive ones.
OUR TUNE-UP PROCESS
A tune-up starts with a conversation, because how your package unit performed through the last summer and winter tells us where to look first.
An outdoor cabinet collects dust, leaves and debris through every season, and a dirty coil makes the whole system work harder. We clean before we test, so the readings that follow are accurate and the unit can move air the way it was designed to.
Fan motors, capacitors and contacts wear a little with every cycle, and the blower and controls serve both heating and cooling. Testing them while they still work helps us catch a weak part before it fails during a hot or cold stretch.
Your package unit heats with a gas section, electric heating elements or a heat pump circuit, and each has its own parts to look at. We examine the one your unit has, then run the unit as the season allows, so we are checking real operation and not only a list of parts.
We finish by putting what we measured and noticed in writing, so you are never left guessing about the condition of your package unit. Ready for a report on your own package unit? Call (719) 240-5109 during business hours to book your tune-up, and have the brand and model handy if you know them.

COMMON QUESTIONS
A package unit tune-up covers the outdoor cabinet, the coil, the fan and blower, the electrical parts and the heating section. We clean the coil and condensate drain, test motors, capacitors and controls, inspect the part of the unit that heats your home and run complete cycles. You then receive a written report, so you know where your package unit stands.
Because one cabinet handles both seasons, a good time is just before the season you depend on most, while any worn part can still be addressed calmly. Many homeowners choose spring before the cooling season or fall before the cold arrives. Our business hours are Monday through Friday, 7am to 4pm, so call (719) 240-5109 and we will get you scheduled.
A split system has two separate pieces of equipment, each with its own tune-up. A package unit keeps cooling and heating components together, so one visit reaches both sides of the system. If your home has separate equipment instead, read about our furnace maintenance and air conditioning maintenance visits to compare what each one covers.
Yes. A gas section adds burners, an igniter, a flame sensor and venting to inspect. Electric heat means checking elements and their connections. A heat pump circuit brings a reversing valve and refrigerant operation into the visit. We look at the data label to see how your unit heats, then tailor the tune-up to those parts instead of following a one-size checklist.
Follow the filter manufacturer's directions and check the filter regularly in both the cooling and heating seasons, since a clogged filter restricts airflow and makes the blower work harder. Replace it when it looks dirty, and more often if your home has pets or a lot of dust. We inspect the filter at every tune-up and tell you when it needs replacing.
Leaves, dust and debris collect around the cabinet and on the coil, and that buildup restricts airflow. You can safely clear loose debris from the surroundings and keep plants trimmed back from the unit. Leave the panels closed and the coil cleaning to us, because the cabinet contains electrical parts. We clean the coil as part of every tune-up.
We cannot promise a specific savings figure, and no honest contractor can. What we can say is that a clean coil, unrestricted airflow and well-adjusted components let a package unit run the way it was designed to, which helps it use energy efficiently. A dirty coil, a clogged filter or a struggling motor do the opposite. Your written report shows what we found and corrected.
The report summarizes what we cleaned, what we measured and the condition of the main components, from the coil and condensate drain to the motors and heating section. It flags worn parts, lists our recommendations and suggests when to schedule the next visit. Keep it with your records, and you give any future technician a clear picture of how the unit has been cared for.
We show you what we see and explain it in everyday language, then lay out your options, which may include repairing the part now or watching it until the next visit. Nothing proceeds until you understand it and agree to it. If the unit needs more than a repair, we will talk through your choices honestly, with no surprises or hidden fees.
We offer a residential maintenance plan for homeowners, built around regular heating and cooling tune-ups. We would rather explain what it includes in person than guess here, so call (719) 240-5109 during business hours and we will walk you through it. You can also read about it on our maintenance plans page before you call.
